Leonid Yakovlevich Belykh
Managing Director of JSC Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant
Leonid Yakovlevich Belykh was born in 1950 in the village of Bichura of the Republic of Buryatia. After graduating from the Ulan-Ude Aviation College in 1969, he came to work at the aviation plant as an electrical fitter. He worked as a foreman, workshop chief, deputy chief engineer.
In 1982 he graduated from the Academy of Civil Aviation in Leningrad, in 1990 — from the Higher School of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, Ph.D. in Economics.
Since 1996, Leonid Belykh is Deputy Director General for Marketing and Sales. Marketing activities have been intensified in markets of many foreign countries of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America. Its results were approved by the Board of Directors, and in 1998 L.Y. Belykh was appointed to position of Director General of JSC Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.
During the years of establishing of the Russian economy, the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant under direction of Leonid Belykh managed to maintain its enormous potential, firmly gained a reputation as a stable working and developing enterprise and took a worthy place among the machine-building enterprises of the country and the world. The plant is one of the most famous brands of Buryatia, its economy’s flagship.
The future of the enterprise is connected with development of the helicopter building holding «Russian Helicopters» within the framework of which U-UAP organized serial production of Mi-171A2 helicopter, manufacture of Ka-226T light helicopter is being launched, it is planned to produce a light aircraft.
As Director General, and since 2009 — Managing Director (after joining to Russian Helicopters Holding and transferring the rights of the sole executive body to JSC Russian Helicopters) Leonid Belykh pays a lot of attention to give a full load to the enterprise, expanding the model range, high-quality execution of production program.
Leonid Belykh is a delegate of the People’s Khural of the Republic of Buryatia, Chairman of the Regional Union of Machine Builders of the Russian Federation, President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Buryatia.
For highly effective, sincere work Leonid Belykh was repeatedly awarded government awards of the Russian Federation, awards and honorary titles of the Republic of Buryatia and sectoral ministries. Honored Worker of Industry of the Republic of Buryatia, Honorary Citizen of the city of Ulan-Ude. In 2020, Leonid Belykh was awarded the title Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation.
In 2020 Leonid Belykh was awarded with the Medal of the Helicopter Industry Association «For contribution to international cooperation in the helicopter industry» and included in the number of Honorary Members of the Association.
